Malcolm Campbell

Vice President (Research), University of Guelph
Malcolm Campbell is a distinguished scholar and accomplished plant genome biologist who oversees an active research group; serves on journal editorial boards as well as multiple boards of directors; and advises governmental, non-governmental, private sector, and community organisations. After acquiring degrees in genetics and biochemistry at University of Guelph, post-doctoral experience in France and the USA, and eight years as a tenured faculty member at Oxford University, Malcolm joined University of Toronto in 2004. Malcolm was Vice Principal (Research) at University of Toronto Scarborough from 2009-2015. In 2015, Malcolm was appointed Vice President (Research) at University of Guelph. In additional to vice presidential duties, which include overseeing University of Guelph’s extensive partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs, Malcolm also serves as institutional lead of UofG’s Canada First Research Excellence Fund initiative, Food from Thought, a big data analytics platform for the agri-food sector.
