Special Performance: The Anniversary, A Play
Représentation spéciale : L’Anniversaire, une pièce de théâtre
RSVP required

Organized by: CSPC, ISSP, Faculty of Arts and Department of Theatre, University of Ottawa

Choice, identity and the nature of connection collide in The Anniversary: A Play by Jacob Berkowitz - a dramatic exploration of the intimate role of science and technology in our lives. Ottawa lawyer Evelyn Carlyle married the perfect man and created her ideal family. But when her three adult children return home to celebrate their parents’ 30th anniversary, her creation starts to look like a failed lab experiment. How do science and technology shape our deepest familial relationships in ways we don’t even recognize? An alt-present family drama that gets at the ancient roots of what it is to be human—or not.

The two performances of The Anniversary at CSPC 2022 are presented as part of the University of Ottawa’s Institute for Science, Society and Policy’s (ISSP) efforts to use innovative non-traditional ways of bringing disciplines and sectors together to develop policy for grand challenges.

Location: Performances at LabO Theatre, 60 Waller St. Theatre Entrance is at 10 Daly Ave.
(a 5-minute walk from the CSPC Conference at The Westin Hotel.)

Time: Tuesday and Wednesday @7:00. Show runs 90 mins. Doors open at 6:45.
